Hello! We are

AIM Young Adults Group

An informal support for LGBT young people aged 18 - 25 years old in the North East.

  • About the Group

Dundalk Outcomers Young Adults' Drop-In is a safe space to get to know some other LGBT young people. You can call in when you like, have a cuppa and a chat, or get involved in some of the activities we have planned. Either way, you'll meet other young LGBT adults in a relaxed environment where nobody will judge you for who you are.

Drop-in is open again on Thurs @ 8pm for 18+ year olds, and Sat @ 1pm for 14-17's.

Starting on Sat 2nd Oct, drama workshops from 11am - 1pm. We're going to devise our own play, peoples!

Coming soon on Wednesdays - LGBT film night. Some of these will be on in DKIT, so stay tuned for details.

We're supporting the LGBT Society in DKIT again this year, which will include a programme of events - for more information e-mail

Thursday sessions are being re-formatted slightly... We AIM to follow a timetable of information workshops and activities, which will take place during the first half of the evening (approx 8.30 to 9.30), after which everyone can sit around until they get kicked out (usually 12ish). Again, contact for more details, or else the timetable will be posted on Soon.

  • The last few months...

It's been a mad, mad summer in Dundalk...

After we launched we went straight into the launch of our research report "Family Matters" with Minister for Justice Dermot Ahern, who then went on to say nice things about us during the Seanad debate on Civil Partnership.

Next it was full steam ahead for the first ever Gay Pride in Dundalk. It was a fantastic success - full praise and credit to everyone who put in so much hard work, love and thanks to all who came along to take part, and apologies to everyone who got a bit left behind while our time was taken up with meetings, and planning, and phone calls, and more meetings, etc.

After that we had the pleasure of attending NW Pride - thanks to all in Sligo! And then a well deserved break :)

And now we're back, from outer space... See the next post for more details!
